The Huddersfield Singers is now registered as a cause on EasyFundraising.org.uk, which provides a fantastic way of raising extra money for the choir just by shopping normally online.

What happens then?Once you’ve signed up, you can install a Donation Reminder web browser extension on your computer that will make it extremely easy to donate to your cause (us!) while shopping online. As well as giving you appropriate reminders when on shopping sites, if you search for things to buy using a search engine such as Google or Bing, you’ll get additional, clickable links to retailers that make donations via EasyFundraising, showing the percentage of your purchase that will be donated to the choir (see the screenshot to the right for an example). Also, the new browser button installed by Donation Reminder gives you handy links to popular retailers, so it’s really easy to get to them with just a click. Donation Reminder is available for all the popular web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge etc.) and is a really useful extension.
Alternatively, if you use a phone or tablet to shop online, you can initiate your shopping via the EasyFundraising app instead. Or, if you don’t want to install any new software of any kind, or use an unsupported system, you can simply remember to begin your online shopping trip by visiting EasyFundraising first and using its site to connect to your retailer, so that your chosen cause still gets the donation.
However you initiate your shopping online, if you do it through EasyFundraising and have The Huddersfield Singers as your selected cause, everything you buy online will raise some money for the choir! Donations also go through GiftAid to raise even more! And it doesn’t cost you a thing.
Over 3,600 retailers support EasyFundraising, including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com, eBay, Boden, Trainline, Sainsbury’s and M&S, so you’ve got a vast amount of choice.
Individual donations are, of course, typically quite small… but they will quickly add up for the choir and make a big difference to our finances. And if you’re making a major purchase online, such as a holiday or an expensive piece of equipment, it can lead to the choir receiving a substantial donation… all at no cost to you!
