“The Huddersfield Singers would appear to be the local choir for people who are ambitious to explore all sorts of repertoire…”

William Marshall, The Huddersfield Daily Examiner, June 2015

For its 2017–2018 season, the choir is very excited to welcome Daniel Gordon as its new conductor. Daniel is a very highly regarded local musician who has served for many years as the Huddersfield Choral Society’s accompanist. Recently he has been promoted within that organisation to become Accompanist and Assistant Chorusmaster, and we are delighted that he has agreed to work with us as we undertake a search for a new permanent conductor.

We are also delighted that our recently-appointed President, Susan M. Wilkinson, will be assisting Daniel in rehearsing the choir. Susan is also a well known and greatly respected music practitioner in the area, not least for her work with the Huddersfield Choral Society Youth Choirs over their first three decades. She also conducts Gledholt Male Voice Choir.

The choir is always keen to welcome new members of all voice parts. Weekly rehearsals take place on Monday evenings between 7.30pm and 9.30pm at the Huddersfield Methodist Mission, 15 Lord Street, Huddersfield (see a map), and choir members also enjoy a flourishing social programme throughout the year.

So, if you have a musical ear, click on the cartoon to the right to visit our recruitment page for more information about joining!
